Down to the Details

When it comes to the design of your kitchen, layout, function, and aesthetic all work together to create the ultimate space for you to cook, dine, and connect with your friends and family. Let’s break it down to the details:

Layout –

As you work towards a design solution for your kitchen, whether it’s a new build or a home remodel, you want to think about how you will be using the space. How many people will be cooking at one time? How many family members will want to congregate as the spices are churning? What type of cooking do you do? What appliances are you considering? These are common questions a designer will ask as he or she begins to space plan.

Function –

A great kitchen layout will always contribute to its functionality, but the design can be taken a step further as you consider what to include in your kitchen cabinetry. Trash pullouts, rollout trays, plate pegs, non-slip mats, mixer lifts, tray dividers, pantry cabinets, and appliance pantries are a few upgrades you can consider that will aid your kitchen organization and overall use.

Aesthetic –

Many individuals think about this component prior to anything else. Afterall, you want your kitchen to reflect your design style. How is this determined? By breaking down your personality. What excites you? What motivates you? What will make you want to cook even after a long day at work? Do you value simplicity or ornate detail? The answers to these questions will quickly determine the direction of your kitchen’s aesthetic.

As you begin to plan your dream kitchen, don’t stress about where to begin the design process. By breaking down the details of layout, function, and aesthetic you will achieve creating the ultimate design solution.
